Fifth Grade Scratch Projects
This year's 5th graders have begun to finish their Scratch projects. Scratch is a programming language developed by MIT for use with students. It is a drag and drop interface. This means that students need to learn the logic of programming, as in "If this happens, then that happens" or " make this thing move 3 steps and then say hello 3 times". But they drag the commands over to a work space and put them in the proper order. They don't have to worry about where the comma or the right letter is.

This project can be challenging at first to students. They know what they want to say, but they don't know how to get that onto the website. But they have worked very hard and are making great progress!
