4th Grade Book Trailers.
This fall the Kingsley 4th grade have been making Book Trailers. What are Book Trailers, you ask?
If you have every gone to the movies and seen previews of movies to come, those are called movie trailers. Book trailers are the same concept, except for books. They are a video compilation of pictures, text and music that tries to get you to read a book.
The 3 fourth grades at Kingsley have spent a great deal of time on these trailers. They had to fill out a worksheet detailing the characters, setting, and plot of their book. Then they thought of 8-12 pictures that would work well in a trailer, and 8-12 pieces of text that would accompany the pictures. They listed these and then put them in an order that they thought would work.
THEN they got onto the Chromebooks! We are using Animoto.com and Stupeflix.com, which are online video editing websites. They found the pictures they had listed in iClipArt and APimages in our AEA 267 online resources (and in Google if they couldn't find them anywhere else), downloaded them to their Chromebook and then uploaded them to their video editing website. They then added text and music (from Soundzabound, another AEA 267 resource), put their finishing touches on, and they had a book trailer!
As you can see, these are a lot of work. I wanted to start today because they are starting to finish. I will continue to post them as they are finished.
I am SO PROUD OF THEM! They have all worked so hard and I have been able to see such a lot of growth in their learning. They had to know their books backward and forwards to do this work.
Please see below and click on the names to see a trailer.
